    Grease and base line a 1 lb loaf tin. Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan 170°C, gas mark 4).

    Place the All-bran, sugar, fruit, walnuts and tea into a mixing bowl. Stir well and allow to stand for 30 minutes.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 75g All-bran
    • 125g Unrefined dark muscovado sugar
    • 25g Dried mixed fruits
    • 25g Walnuts chopped
    • 125ml Tea strong

    Mix in the flour, baking powder, mixed spice and egg.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 75g Plain wholemeal flour
    • 1tsp Baking powder
    • 1 Mixed spice
    • 1 Egg(s) (free range)

    Transfer to the prepared loaf tin. Bake in the preheated oven for around 40 minutes.

    Cool before turning out. Serve in slices with butter.
