Betty's 41st Wedding Anniversary with Rick, 2011 (VERY LONG!)

Betty and Rick celebrate their 41st Wedding Anniversary at Boone Tavern Hotel in Berea, Kentucky. Our anniversary was on January 23rd, and we decided to spend it at Boone Tavern Hotel, which is about 15 miles from our home. We have visited the hotel restaurant twice in Betty's Kitchen already—once to have dinner and another time to have lunch. On our anniversary (which was Sunday), we arrived at the restaurant at 11:00 a.m. and had a large and sumptuous brunch. We then checked in to the hotel, and just by luck, we were assigned the Presidential Suite. You will see a tour of the suite in this video. We settled into our room, and in the afternoon we shared some chilled sparkling grape juice and exchanged cards and gifts. We then watched one of the Playoff football games until it was time to dress for dinner. We had a nice dinner, which you will see in this video. We spent some time enjoying the privacy of the sitting room in the lobby after dinner, and then settled into our room for the night. It was a very cold day here in Kentucky, but the room was nice and cozy. We watched the second half of another Playoff football game. We had a very restful night of sleep, with no alarms to wake up to. The next morning we were dressed and ready for breakfast at about 7:30 a.m. I had a large breakfast, but Rick ate lightly. We decided to check out and come back home to Richmond, where we picked up our poodle, Remy, who had spent the night at our daughter, Chelsea's, house. We had a great little escape on our anniversary—and we spent the following two days at home relaxing—watching movies, etc.—but no work!
