Sicilian arancini is one of the most loved street food in Italy: warm rice balls stuffed with ragout or ham and cheese, coated with bread crumbs and then deep fried. Arancini are prepared and served across every corner of Sicily, and you can taste them in different variation in fillings and shape depending on the city you are in. The name “arancini” means “little oranges” because of their color and shape which remind oranges.

Caciocavallo cheese 100 g

FOR RAGOUT FILLING

Pork minced meat 100 g
Extra-virgin olive oil q.b.
Tomato sauce 200 ml
Peas 80 g
Caciocavallo cheese 50 g
Red wine 50 ml

FOR HAM FILLING

Ham 30 g (in one slice)
Mozzarella cheese 60 g

FOR THE BATTER AND FRYING

Cake flour 200 g
Fine salt 1 pizzico
Water 300 ml
Breadcrumbs to taste
Seed oil to taste
