Betty demonstrates how to make English Toffee with White Chocolate and Almonds. This is a wonderful treat!

English Toffee with White Chocolate and Almonds

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
¼ cup water
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup white chocolate chips
2.5 ounces sliced almonds, toasted

In a heavy pot, melt butter over low heat. Stir in sugar, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until toffee reaches 300 degrees (F)--the hard crack stage. Immediately pour toffee into a 13-inch by 9-inch by 2-inch ungreased pan and spread out. While toffee is very hot, place white chocolate chips evenly over the top. When white chocolate chips begin to melt, spread the chips until smooth. Sprinkle toasted almond slices over melted white chocolate layer. Press down firmly, using hands or bottom of a clean, heavy pot. Chill for 1 hour, or until toffee is set. Turn toffee out into a large sheet pan and break into serving pieces. Place on a nice serving plate and voila! English Toffee with White Chocolate and Almonds! Enjoy! --Betty :)
