ASUN Recipe: How to Make ASUN/Smoked Peppered Goat Meat, Easy Way



Asun is a spicy goat meat infused into pepper sauce hence the name peppered goat meat; it is a very common delicacy in Nigeria enjoyed in different events like birthday, wedding or get together and so on.

Smoked goat meat is best for asun preparation; however, asun has a very distinctive aroma after it has been prepared. If you love the distinctive flavour of asun and still want to retain it, do not over whelm it with too much spices, few and simple ingredients will do the magic plus the smoked goat meat which takes it to the next level. This recipe can be used to prepare peppered beef or peppered chicken.

Asun/ peppered goat meat ingredients

1. 1 kg of goat meat (with the skin on)
2. 6 scotch bonnet peppers or as desired
3. 2 red bell peppers
4. 3 green bell peppers
5. 2 medium onions
6. 3 goat meat seasoning cubes (Knorr cubes)
7. 3 cloves of garlic, optional
8. Cooking oil for frying of the meat
9 Salt to taste
