In this episode of Retronomy chef Jonny Marsh shows you how to how to make a delicious chicken Kiev from scratch. We're not sure if it's actually from Ukraine, but it's definitely delicious!

Ingredients:

2 chicken breasts
Garlic
Handful of thyme
Handful of parsley
250 g butter
Olive oil
Salad leaves
Flour
4 egg yolks
Breadcrumbs

Serves: Two
Prep: 30 minutes
Cook: 15 minutes
Temp: 200C

Step 1: Make The Butter
Ensure the butter is brought up to room temperature. Chop the parsley, garlic and thyme and add to the butter. Mix well.

Step 2: Stuff The Chicken
Slice through the centre of the chicken breast to make a pocket using a sharp knife. Stuff the butter mixture into the pocket in the chicken breasts.

Step 3: Coat The Chicken
Dredge the chicken breasts in the flour, then dip into the beaten egg, then the breadcrumbs to coat completely, shaking off any excess.

Step 4: Cook The Chicken
Heat the oil in an ovenproof frying pan and fry the chicken breasts on all sides until lightly browned. Transfer to the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden-brown and completely cooked through

Step 5: Serve
Serve with salad
