This video is a visual tutorial of making a Ghanaian dish called Banku and Okra Stew, which is "Banku ne nkuruma abommu" in the Twi language. To prepare for this dish, you chop some onions, okra, kobi, garden eggs (white eggplants), and a different assortment of fishes (Optional). Chopped pig foot, smoked turkey wing, wele (cow hide) and lamb shoulder with the bone are boiled in a pot. Alongside this, a pan filled with palm oil (Zomi) is sauteing some chopped red onions. Then the chopped kobi fish is added to the pan with the sauteing onions. After some minutes, when the onions have been sauteed enough, we add a portion of chopped tomatoes to fry in the same pan. As that stew goes, the banku is prepared by mixing corn dough in a pot full of boiling water until it is thick enough to knead. into what becomes banku. Some teaspoons of minced garlic was added to the stew and then stirred. After some minutes, the chopped garden eggs are added to the stew and stirred as well. After some minutes the chopped okra is added to the stew. After ten or so minutes, the boiled smoked turkey wings, wele, and pig feet are added to the stew and stirred. Be careful with using salt in this dish, because the kobi and pig feet have a high content of salt within them. Kobi gives off a nice but strong tastes of pungent fishiness. The pig feet contain a lot gelatin within them, therefore it advised to let then soak in some water before using it in this meal.
