When you need to slice or shred a large quantity of veggies, nothing beats a food processor. In this lively demonstration video, Jennifer shows you that using a food processor is much faster than slicing by hand, and it takes all the effort out of grating or shredding.

Jennifer takes you on a video "tour" of a typical processor and explores its various blades. She talks about the famous "S-blade" which is used for regular slicing and coarse shredding, as well as the 2mm slicing blade which is used for fine shredding.

A cucumber is the first veggie to get the food processing treatment. You'll watch as Jennifer fits her processor with the thick slicing blade and quickly turns a peeled and seeded cucumber into a pile of gorgeous, even slices.

Next up is hard-to-handle cabbage. Jennifer shows you how to quarter and core a cabbage to prepare it for processing with the 2mm slicing blade. You'll see how the processor's wide feed tube makes it simple and safe to slice mounds of this healthful green veggie.

The final blade that Jennifer demonstrates is the fine shredding disk which she uses to shred carrots and beets into pliant strands. With the help of this appliance, even extremely tough vegetables like beets can be shredded and enjoyed raw.
