    Place all of the ingredients except the honey into a mixer with a dough hook attached. Mix to a soft dough and knead for 5 minutes.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 450g Very strong white bread flour
    • 1tsp Unrefined golden caster sugar
    • 1tsp Salt
    • 50g Oatmeal
    • 2tsp Mixed spice
    • 1 Apple(s) peeled, cored and finely chopped
    • 2 tbsp Skimmed milk powder
    • 1 Easy bake yeast sachet (7g)
    • 50ml Vegetable oil
    • 200ml Apple juice

    If mixing by hand, put the flour, sugar, salt, oatmeal, spice, apple and milk powder into a bowl. Sprinkle on the yeast and mix to a soft dough with the oil and apple juice. Knead on a floured board for 10 minutes.

    Shape the mixture into 12 rounds and place into a greased bun tin

    Leave to prove until double in size. Preheat the oven to 190°C (fan 170°C, gas mark 5).

    Bake for 20 minutes and glaze with honey while still warm.
