    Stud the onion with cloves.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 1 Onion(s) peeled
    • 4 Cloves

    Pour the milk into a medium saucepan add the onion, pinch of salt, peppercorns and bay leaf.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 570ml Milk (whole)
    • Salt
    • 8 Peppercorns
    • 1 Bay leaf

    Bring the milk up to the boil, then remove from the heat for 10 minutes.

    Remove the peppercorns and the bay leaf, then add the butter and breadcrumbs and cook slowly for about 15 minutes until it is thick, stirring occasionally.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 100g Breadcrumbs
    • 30g Butter (salted)

    Remove the onion and serve.
