La Prantome recipe:

The French Chef is a television cooking show created and hosted by Julia Child and produced and broadcast by WGBH, the public television station in Boston, Massachusetts, from February 11, 1963 to 1973. It was one of the first cooking shows on television. All rights belong to the Cooking Channel.
In her passionate, capable, and approachable way, Julia changed the way Americans cook, eat, and think about food. She was a natural television star, warm and exuberant and ready to share all of the lessons she had learned from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and her years of work on her groundbreaking cookbook,"Mastering the Art of French Cooking."Julia presented the nuances of every recipe while also teaching her audience the basics of French cooking, from the proper way to choose and prepare cuts of meat and how to chop and sauté onions to achieving the perfect simmer and the safest way to flambé.

Never afraid to make mistakes on camera, she used them to her advantage to show her viewers how to adapt with confidence. As Julia herself said, "If I can do it, you can do it...and here's how to do it!

America's favorite chef and cooking teacher shares her ageless techniques and recipes in the classic series The French Chef. Subscribe and watch all these well-loved series and rediscover why Julia is and always will be the Grand Dame of the Kitchen. Bon appétit!
"So good is she that men who have not the slightest intention of going to the kitchen for anything but ice cubes watch her for pure enjoyment." (Time, 1966)
