Swedish Potato Dumplings with Pork Recipe - Traditional Dumpling called Kroppkaka
Swedish Potato Dumplings are so easy to make. You can easily make these traditional Dumplings with Pork from scratch for dinner. In Swedish these are called Kroppkaka. Be sure to check out our other version of bacon as well.
Ingredients
4 large potatoes
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp salt
3 oz of wheat flour
1 tsp allspice
1 small white onion
3 1/2 oz salt pork
Directions:
Peel and boil the potatoes.
Fry the chopped pork quickly with diced onion.
Mix in the allspice.
Mash the boiled potatoes.
Mix in the egg yolks and salt.
Mix in the wheat flour.
Cut the potato roll into inch-thick slices.
Make a depression in the center of each slice.
Fill it with the pork mixture.
Roll into a smooth, even ball.
Boil the dumplings in a pot of lightly salted water for 5–6 minutes
without a lid.
The dumplings should rise to the surface.
Serve with lingonberries, parsley and melted butter.
