EASY FALL LEAF CAKE

Let's make a colorful Buttercream Fall Leaf Cake. This super simple leaf cake is really easy and fun to make.I used my Easy Sponge Cake to make a 10 inch cake.

Then I trimmed the top and torted the cake.

To fill the cake I used Maple Swiss Buttercream that I flavored with concentrated Maple Flavoring. Be sure to use only several drop of concentrated flavoring as it's very strong.
Fill the cake and crumb-coat it. Then chill until firm.

Next, we are going to frost the top and the sides. I iced the top with ivory tinted buttercream and side with chocolate buttercream.
Use a small offset spatula to make the spiral design on the top and bark texture on the sides of the cake. So easy.

Here comes the fun part. Place a stencil (free template on the blog) on a chilled caked. Then spread yellow and orange buttercream of the stencil. Taking care not go over the edges of the stencil. Then in short strokes spread green and red buttercream over the stencil. Wipe the spatula clean into a damp paper towel before strokes.

Lift up the stencil to reveal an beautiful maple leaf design. Finish by outlining the leaf with leftover chocolate buttercream.
