How To Bake Mince Pies (With Frangipane Tops)
Hello everyone and welcome back to another bake. Christmas is nearly here so I thought I'd show you guys how to make this classic recipe for a festive treat. I'm baking some great Mince Pies with a frangipane top - delicious. These mince pies consist of a sweet pastry case, a juicy mincemeat filling that's warm and brimming, and then each pie is topped off with a soft and slightly chewy frangipane case.
This recipe is my adaptation of both a James Martin and Paul Hollywood recipe.
Ingredients :
• One pre-made Sweet Pastry. I show you how to make this here :
--
• 100g Soft Unsalted Butter
• 100g Golden Caster Sugar
• 30g Plain Flour (extra for rolling)
• Two Free-range Eggs
• 70g Ground Almonds
• 30g Flaked Almonds
• 175g Dried Currants and Sultanas (predominately Currants)
• 300g good quality Mincemeat (I use M&S)
• One cap of Orange-flavoured alcohol
--
• 3-4 inch greased Mince Pie tray
--
Hope you enjoy this bake as much as I enjoyed making it! Let me know in the comments if you have tried this recipe or have any tips/ variations you've discovered whilst making these tasty Christmas treats.
Thanks for watching and see you in the next bake!
