Kissan Creamy Rice With Jam

Rich and creamy rice along with delicious Kissan Jam, topped with dry fruits. Sounds like quite a fancy tiffin treat, right?

Prep Time : 15 – 20 Minutes
Serves: 2

Ingredients

4 tablespoons Kissan Mixed Fruit Jam
A few threads of saffron soaked in milk
1 cup basmati rice, soaked
1 tablespoon pure ghee 2 tablespoons raisins
7-8 cashewnuts
½ cup sugar
½ teaspoon green cardamom powder

Method

1. Heat ghee in a pan, cut the cashewnuts into halves and sauté alongwith raisins. Drain and set aside.
2. In the same pan, add soaked rice and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add 1½ cups of boiling water along with saffron water and let the rice cook.
4. When half done add sugar, jam,cover and continue to cook till all the water has been absorbed and the rice is cooked.
5. Add green cardamom powder and mix gently.
6. Decorate with raisins, cashewnuts. Serve hot.
