I'm Despina and I show you how to make Galaktoboureko (Greek Custard Pastry).
You will need the following...
Custard:
- 1/4 Cup butter
- 3/4 Cup sugar
- 3/4 Cup semolina
- 4 Cups milk
- Cinnamon stick
- Vanilla bean (or vanilla essence)
- Lemon rind
- Pinch of salt
- 3 eggs
Pastry:
- Filo
- 3/4 block of unsalted butter
Syrup:
- 1 Cup sugar
- 1 Cup water
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- Lemon rind
- Cinnamon stick
- 3 cloves (optional)
