Maple Custard Pie With Meringue (1960)

Please help us to find bad videos. Broken or unappropriated video content?
When making the meringue I misspoke, I actually added 6 tablespoons of sugar not butter. You will need one baked
pie crust.

Here are the ingredients for the custard:
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup maple syrup
2 cups Half'n'Half (1 cup whipping cream and 1 cup milk)
3 egg yolks, tempered
1/2 teaspoon maple extract (I added a little less)
1 tablespoon butter
Meringue:
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons cold water
1/2 cup boiling water
3 egg whites, beaten
6 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Bake meringue at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until browned
lightly.
