Ingredients:
500 gm clam meat(kakka irachi)
For clam cleaning
1 tbsp Vinegar to clean the clam & 1/2 tsp salt
For cooking clam
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Water
1 tsp Salt
For the masala
3 tbsp Coconut oil
1 tbsp garlic chopped
1/2 tbsp ginger chopped
1/2 tbsp green chillies chopped
2 big onions chopped
2 sprigs Curry leaves
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilly powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp black pepper powder
1/2 tsp fennel powder
1/2 cup fresh Coconut pieces
Instructions:
1. Clean the clam by adding salt to it and squeezing out the mud and waste in it.
2. Give it a vinegar wash
3. Wash with water and drain the meat
4. Cook with water,salt and turmeric powder for 10 minutes.
5. add coconut oil, garlic, ginger, green chillies, onions and curry leaves.keep cooking until the onions are lightly brown.
6. Now add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder and cook the spices a bit
7. Add the cooked clam meat to the masala.mix well.cover and cook for few minutes.
8. add turmeric powder, fennel powder, coconut pieces, curry leaves and coconut oil for the final seasoning.
9. Enjoy with some hot matta rice and curry.
