Holiday punch, something my grandmother made every single holiday. Something we all look forward to. I vividly remember where she placed it in her kitchen, and I'd like to prepare it for you today. I guarantee, wherever you serve this punch, it'll sure be a big hit. The first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to take Maraschino cherries and I'm going to place one in each ice cube. I'm doing this because the punch bowl that I'm using today is a small punch bowl. You could also use a punch bowl ring. This is just some ginger ale. I'm going to pour it into the tray. And here it is. It smells so good. And just drop these into your freezer and let them freeze. So that'll be step one for the holiday punch.

And if you're going to use the ring, just pour a jar of Maraschino cherries into the ring and fill your ring up with ginger ale and place it into the freezer-- as simple as that. So here is our finished ice cubes. Just dump it right into our punch bowl. Now you can see they don't totally freeze because it's soda, but they freeze just enough. I have prepared two trays. And like I said, if you had one big punch bowl, you could use your ring.

Next-- this is so simple --one can of crushed pineapple with the juices into the punch bowl, one can of Maraschino cherries with their juices into the punch bowl. Now, I have to share a funny story with you. The next two ingredients, according to my grandmother, they had to be the exact ingredients. She always used Welch's grape juice. Years ago it used to come in a can. And believe me, I've searched high and low for the can because it's just something about having to make it just the way she did. They don't make it in a can as far as I know, but they still make it. So it's one bottle or can of Welch's grape juice poured right in.

My grandfather and grandmother at a holiday when we were doing our shopping or baking, because preparing for a holiday at my grandmother's, we cooked for a week before the cooking started, so how often my grandfather was sent to the grocery store to pick up last-minute items that we forgot for our recipe, I can't even begin to tell you. But one day I vividly remember my grandmother she forgot to get the ingredients to the punch. And we're like, Grandma, you have to make the punch. It won't be holiday without it. So she said, Joe, you have to go to the grocery store. I need Canada Dry ginger ale and Welch's grape juice.

So they got into a little argument, why does it have to be Canada Dry ginger ale? We have the Twin Lights soda in the [? speeza ?] closet downstairs in the basement, just get one of those, he used to say, [? Felina. ?] That's what he called her, [? Felina. ?] And she'd say, Joe, it has to be the right way. So off to the store-- because he was an angel --he would go and he would buy us our Canada Dry ginger ale for our holiday punch. So that's what we use Canada Dry.
