Chiffon cake ingredients:
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp powdered milk
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Meringue:
4 egg whites
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp white vinegar
White Chocolate glaze:
170g white chocolate
3 tbsp evaporated milk(more if needed)
Topping:
3/4 cup toasted almonds, sliced
Procedure:
1) Bring 1 liter of water to a boil
2) Combine all purpose flour, sugar, powdered milk, baking powder and salt. Mix well
3) In a separate bowl combine egg yolks, water, oil and vanilla extract. Mix well
4) Combine dry and wet ingredients
5) Meringue: Beat egg whites until foamy
6) Add white vinegar and beat until soft peaks form
7) Gradually add white sugar and beat until stiff peaks form
8) Fold in meringue into the cake batter
9) Pour cake batter into the loaf pan
10)Steam for 30-40 min. over med. low heat
11)Remove cake from the pan and cool completely
White Chocolate glaze procedure:
1) In a pan heat evaporated milk over low heat
2) Add white chocolates and mix constantly until chocolate melts
3) Cool completely
Assemble:
1) optional: Cut the cake
2) Fill cake with white chocolate glaze
3) Coat the whole cake with glaze
4) Coat whole cake with toasted almonds
