MINT AND MASOOR DAL TIKKI - Mrs Vahchef

Mint and Masoor Tikki Whole masoor has been combined with bread crumbs, paneer and flavoured with loads of mint. A minty fresh delight! Mint is a popular herb used extensively in Indian cooking. It contains plenty of vitamins and minerals such as calcium, iron, carotene, folic acid, vitamin C, all of which are essential for the body.
INGREDIENTS:
Whole lentil(Masoor dal-soaked overnight in water) 1 cup
Mint 1 cup
Green chilli paste 1 tbsp
Paneer ¼ cup
Lemon juice 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Bread crumbs ½ cup
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Chick pea flour ½ cup
Oil to fry
METHOD:
1. Take boiled masoor dal(already soaked overnight in water) and mash it with a masher or hand.
2. Now add mint leaves, green chilli paste, paneer, lemon juice, salt, bread crumbs, garam masala powder and mix it thoroughly.
3. Make small tikkis with it and coat chick pea flour. Make all the tikki’s in the same way and keep aside.
4. Add little oil in a hot pan and pan fry the tikki’s till they become golden brown.
5. Transfer them in a plate and serve with green chutney or sweet chutney.
