Jaundice

When suffering from Jaundice, one’s skin & the white portion of the eye get a yellowish tinge.
This occurs when the liver fails to remove bilirubin from the body. Bilirubin is a yellowish pigment present in the digestive fluid called bile. A build-up of this yellowish pigment gives the yellowish tinge to the patient’s body.

Symptoms to look for:

• Dark colored urine
• Weakness
• Fever
• Fatigue
• Constipation
• Loss of appetite
• Headaches
• Nausea

Causes:

• Liver fails to remove bilirubin

Food groups to consume in eczema:

1. Liquids: Flushes out toxins and replenishes potassium

Foods to consume: Coconut water, barley water, clear soups, buttermilk, thin broths, skimmed milk, sugarcane juice, wheat grass juice & other fruit & vegetable juices


2. Carbohydrates: Restores energy levels in body

Foods to consume: Breads, oats, rice, potatoes, honey and jams


3. Vitamins, minerals & antioxidants: Helps in liver recovery

Foods to consume: Carrots, beet roots. tomatoes, bell peppers and French beans


4. Vitamin C: Regenerates liver cell

Recipes based on the above food groups:

Recipe 1: Orange & wheat grass juice

1. Blend a bunch of wheat grass in a blender
2. Strain it
3. Now, remove the juice of 3 oranges
4. Mix this juice with the wheat grass juice
5. For the finish, add a few mint leaves before serving

This juice makes an excellent body cleanser



Recipe 2: Fruity oatmeal

1. Chop 1 apple with skin into pieces
2. Take a small pan and add ¼ cup water
3. Now add pinch of cinnamon powder
4. 1 tsp tbsp vanilla essence (optional)
5. 1 tbsp raisins

Raisins are a rich source of carbs

6. Also add 2 tsp brown sugar
7. Simmer on medium heat until apples are extra soft and liquid
is at syrupy consistency
8. While this is done, in a medium size pot add 2 cups of water
and boil
9. Add 4 tbsp cup oatmeal and cook for 5 min until done
10. Combine the oatmeal and fruit concoction and simmer on
low heat
11. Finely add ½ cup of cows milk, sit well
12. Serve hot

• Avoid oily & fried foods
• Refrain from sweets, bakery foods, fish, chicken, meat, whole
milk, butter, egg yolk & spicy foods
