Hair Thinning, Balding & Bald Spots: My Alopecia Story

Cindi asked what my backstory was, and I realize that I never discussed it in its entirety! I present to you my hair thinning & alopecia story. :) Learn more on the blog: /

Generally, my hair thinning is pretty diffuse throughout as I have androgenetic alopecia (also called androgenic alopecia). This type of alopecia differs from others as it typically presents as overall thinning, with a concentration an inch or two back from the forehead. Usually the immediately hairline stays intact--but still thin.

So, my main bald spot is right in that area...right where my sunglasses might hit if they were propped up on my head.

What's next for me and my hair thinning and hair loss? Who knows. For right now, I wear hair toppers are my solution of choice, but I imagine as my balding progresses (such a tough word as a woman) I'll eventually shave my hair off fully and wear full wigs all the time.
