1915 Vs. 1929 El Presidente RUM Cocktail
1915 El Presidente Vs. 1929 El Presidente Cocktail - Welcome Friends! Welcome back to Cocktails After Dark. Today we're going to do a rum cocktail called El Presidente, and we're going to do it two ways, the first way we're going to do it is as it was published in
1915 in a cocktail manual in Havana. El Presidente rumcocktail number two is
from 1929 also from a cocktail book published in Havana Cuba.
1915 El Presidente Cocktail:
2-3 drops orange liqueur
2-3 drops Angostura bitters
1 bar spoon grenadine
1 orange twist
2 ounces Dolin Blanc
1 ounce light Cuban rum
Stir with ice, strain into cocktail glass.
Garnish with a cherry.
1929 El Presidente Cocktail:
1.5 ounces light Cuban rum
½ ounce Dolin Blanc
1-2 dashes grenadine
Stir with ice, strain into cocktail glass.
Garnish with an orange twist and a cherry.
