Betty and Rick celebrate their 44th wedding anniversary.

I met Rick in fall of 1966 when we were both beginning our freshman year of college at Eastern Kentucky University. We happened to have an English 101 class together, and we began dating in December, 1966. We got married on January 23, 1970, on Friday after I finished my last class and obtained my bachelor's degree in mathematics. We celebrated our "honeymoon" by moving into an apartment in Richmond, Kentucky. On the following Monday morning I began my first real job, commuting to Winchester, Kentucky, to teach math at George Rogers Clark High School. After I received further degrees in computer science and mathematics and Rick obtained a law degree at the University of Louisville, we eventually both ended up teaching at Eastern Kentucky University until we both retired.

Rick and I have been together for 47 ½ years and have enjoyed a wonderful relationship, which we celebrate in this video. We chose to have dinner at a restaurant in Richmond called "Hanger's." We had a wonderful time, and the food was excellent. I hope you enjoy coming along to share in our night out!
