How to Make a Cake – The Perfect Recipe for Decorators

Learn how to make the perfect yellow cake from scratch. This recipe is perfect for cake decorating because it results in a more dense cake!
Ingredients:
3 cups sifted cake flour
Baking Powder - 1 tablespoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Butter - 1 cup
Granulated Sugar - 2 cups
Eggs - 4
Vanilla Extract - 2 teaspoons
Milk - 1 cup

- Bake Even Strips:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Prepare 2 – 8 in. round aluminum pans with Cake Release Pan Coating.
In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Continue beating one minute. Pour into prepared pans.
Bake 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes on cooling grid; remove from pan and cool completely.
Yield 7.5-8 cups of cake batter.
